The Abbey Digital Archives

Welcome to The Abbey's archives

Welcome to The Abbey Museum and Archives online

Welcome to the online archive for The Abbey School, in Reading UK. From our humble beginnings in 1887, the School archives have grown rapidly in both volume and importance. In 2017, the External Relations Office undertook the herculean task of creating a new museum to display our history to the School and to the outside world in celebration of our 130th Anniversary.

The Abbey alumnae, parents, past parents, grandparents and past and present staff are welcome to join pupils in accessing the archive.

To use the archive, you will need to have a user name and password. For alumnae, this information can be found on Abbey Connect, please follow link below:

https://theabbeyconnect.com

For parents/past parents/grandparents this can be obtained by contacting Ally Bowen at alumnae@theabbey.co.uk. Once logged in, you will be able to access the archive site, key-word search for words and themes, view high-resolution images and find friends in old photographs.

Expanding our archive

The archive and museum are ongoing projects. We are keen to digitise as much of our existing archive as possible. If you would like to donate an item to the archive, lend an item to the School so that we could scan it in or contribute a scanned item so that more people can discover this resource, please contact Ally Bowen at alumnae@theabbey.co.uk

Queries and visits

For any archive comments or queries, or to arrange a visit to Turret House Museum, please contact Ally Bowen on alumnae@theabbey.co.uk
